The Centered Practice Psychotherapy and Counselling

Therapy for Anxiety and Stress in Ontario

Anxiety doesn’t always look like worry. Sometimes it’s a tight chest before a meeting, a mind that won’t stop rehearsing conversations, or a body that stays braced even when nothing is actively wrong. Stress adds another layer on top — too many demands, not enough hours, and a nervous system that never fully powers down.

What it can look like

Constant worry that jumps from one thing to the next. Trouble falling or staying asleep. Muscle tension, headaches, or a stomach that’s often upset. Feeling on edge, irritable, or like something bad is about to happen, even when you can’t point to why. For some people it shows up as panic attacks; for others, it’s a quieter, constant hum of unease.

How therapy can help

We start by understanding your particular pattern — what triggers it, how it shows up in your body, and what you’ve already tried. From there, we work on both practical tools (like the breathing and grounding techniques on this site) and the deeper patterns that keep anxiety running, such as perfectionism, difficulty tolerating uncertainty, or a nervous system shaped by past experience.

My approach

Sessions are online, in English or Spanish (or both, if that’s how you think), for anyone located in Ontario. I draw on cognitive-behavioural and body-based approaches, adapted to what you actually need rather than a fixed script.

Want to go deeper than a technique?

If these techniques help but you feel like you need more, I'd be glad to talk. I offer online individual and couples therapy, in English and Spanish, across the province of Ontario.
